Cardinia Club crowned Club of the Year!

At a gala event on October 17 at the RACV City Club, Community Clubs Association of Victoria (CCAV) presented their 2012 Annual Awards to Victorian clubs, in recognition of the contributions clubs make to their members and communities.

To the great excitement all the Cardinia Club staff, especially those in attendance, the Club walked away with two of the nights top honours:
    Club of the Year Award
    Best Club Refurbishment Award
The prestigious Club of the Year Award is given to the club that best demonstrates benefit to its community through the provision of services, competitions or other common interest facilities, assistance to “outside” organisations, employee skills development programmes as well as commitment to OHS in all areas of operation. Cardinia Club’s Award recognises the tremendous effort the club makes in supporting other local ‘unaffiliated’ clubs and organisations and also the strong emphasis it places on staff development and education.

Best Club Refurbishment Award is made to the club that best demonstrates how an improvement in the quality of presentation or Décor has benefitted members and guests. Cardinia Club’s refurbishment of the bistro and Telopia Lounge has not only created an open, more attractive ambience, it has also provided greater capacity and broadened the entertainment options by making a pleasant contemporary sports bar available.

Brad Ford Gaming Operations Manager said “it’s always great to be recognised, but to win these awards when there is such a high calibre of competition is really exciting”

CEO Michael Hodge said “It is a credit to Brad, Cardinia Club management and staff that the Cardinia Club has become a benchmark of community clubs in Victoria. Everybody involved in the Cardinia Club deserves the utmost credit for winning these awards.”

The Responsible Gambling Code is designed to assist the club to provide gambling in a socially rewarding, enjoyable and responsible manner.
